Connect (or reconnect) on LinkedIn with people you know: personal friends, family, and professional colleagues. Customize your invitations to connect (invitations you send from your mobile device cannot be personalized!) Set the expectation that you want to remain in touch throughout your MBA job search. Offer to help them, as well.
Ask for recommendations from current and former managers, colleagues, and clients. Be willing to reciprocate.
Before making updates, turn off your activity broadcasts (but don’t make yourself anonymous).
Change your Headline to: MBA Candidate, UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School
(Note: You should not include "2017" or "Class of 2017" - it will be evident from your experience)
Create your own LinkedIn vanity URL
Develop a professional summary; be concise; state your goals and relevant qualifications
Have at least 5 items in Skills & Expertise
Join Groups
Follow Companies, Influencers, and/or Industry News (LinkedIn Pulse)
